Marian is a member and holds positions in several non-profit organizations to Reno, Nevada to include: VFW 3396-Senior Vice; VFW District 3-Adjunant; DAV Chapter 1-Adjunant & Jr. Vice; American Legion-Jr. Vice; AMVATS-Adjutant; Elks Lodge 597-Active Member.

Marian was born and raised in Robbins, Il. Marian graduated from High School and went to College where she received an AS in Sociology. Marian joined the Military and later Retired as an U.S. Army First Sergeant with over Twenty (20) years of military experience and accumulated knowledge. During her distinguished 20-year career in the Military, Marian earned numerous certificates of training such as Tactical Communication Chief Course, Logistics, Chemical Training, Instructor Identification, Security Armed Guard Training, Recruiting, and First Sergeant Course. While on active duty she also completed a college degree in Microcomputer Tech. After retiring from the Military, Marian also received Master Certificate in Business Management. 

Marian served 13yrs overseas in the Middle East as a Government Contractor where she was accountable for overseeing numerous government projects, finance and operations in Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan and El Paso, Texas. Marian was the Project / Site Manager responsible for Directing the assembly of over 30 sprung structures including the Bob Hope dining facility which was the largest dining facility ever assembled overseas.

Marian held the position of Logistics Vice President of Operations for a company in Los Angeles California and was responsible for overseeing designated accounts and being fully responsible for client and customer relationships, controlling costs, and profitability.  Work with customers and Program Managers to set and measure standards, teach, train and measure performance of PM’s and their sites/locations.  Interface with Military and veteran customers with the ability to determine priorities and successfully balance conflicting demands.

Marian held the position of the Outreach Specialist for the VA in Reno, Nevada.  She spent countless hours visiting facilities (i.e. shelters, treatment programs, transitional housing, sober living programs, soup kitchens and other locations where the veteran homeless may congregate to publicize services for homeless veterans). Maintain outreach client information database and referrals to the programs. Track veterans referred for program entry and screening appointments. Schedule screenings and/or transportation on behalf of veterans with the treatment facilities, Veterans in Progress program, and/or Career Center activities. She attends and participates in Stand Downs all over Nevada and California. Network with staff to consolidate paperwork needed on each veteran seen by the outreach specialists. Produce a weekly report of veterans encountered by the outreach team. Assist with mailings of upcoming projects and special events sponsored by the Outreach Team. Attend a weekly scheduled Outreach meeting. Maintain and submit time sheets, mileage logs and other required documentation accurately and in a timely fashion.
